There are many ways for us to help you with your care home funding

The Artisan Care Home team can support you with care home funding by going through the many options with you. There are lots of ways to make sure that paying for a private care home like ours is made easier.

Local Authority Support

Every local authority provides financial support for care home stays, based on your financial situation and following an assessment. This can cover some or most of your fees. It can also bridge your fees for up to 12 weeks whilst you make arrangements. To find out your eligibility, contact your local authority. The Artisan team will then agree on a contribution that makes up the difference between this funding and your agreed weekly fees.

Deferred Payment

If you don’t have the funds readily available, we can agree with your representatives to defer payment until they are. This can be whilst you wait on a home sale, or another release of funds. This is subject to prior agreement, and a full disclosure of your financial circumstances.

Transfer With Ease

If you’re moving to an Artisan Care Home from another care facility, we won’t charge you for the one month notice period at your previous home. This enables you to move in immediately, without having to pay two care fees.

Understanding your care home fees

Following the assessment during your admission process, we’ll quote you a weekly fee that forms part of the agreement between us. These are payable monthly, in advance, by direct debit. Your fees may vary slightly each month depending on how many days are in the month, and whether or not you’ve added any extras that month.

Upon admission, you’ll be asked to cover the fees of the rest of the month that you’re moving in via BACs or card, then we’ll move to a direct debit.

What’s included in your weekly fee?

Your weekly fee includes everything you’ll need to live comfortably at an Artisan Care Home. That’s the basics, like making sure you’re warm, in a clean and comfortable room, and have all the meals and snacks you need. What’s more, you won’t have to worry about the prescribed medication, or the round-the-clock care from our trained team. It also includes the home comforts, like the use of our cinema rooms and laundry facilities, as well as the activity calendar and external trips. The only things that are extras are the occasional additions like newspapers, medical escorts, hairdressing, dental care, and chiropody. When you’d like to use these services, we’ll just add it to the monthly direct debit when it’s needed.

Some frequently asked questions

Can I stay in the care home for as long as I would like?

When you become a permanent resident with us, as long as we can continue to meet your needs and you have the financial means to pay for your stay, you have a home for life. If your circumstances change, we’ll work with you to see what options are available from local authorities.

Do care home fees change?

Once the weekly fee is agreed, the only changes you are likely to see are the annual increase, which is based on inflation in the care sector. However, if your needs change drastically we may review to make sure we can provide the resources you need.

What if my care needs change?

It is unlikely that you will ever have to move, due to the high quality of care that we provide and the help of a local GP and District Nurse. Nevertheless, if your needs change to the degree that you will need more regular nursing care, this is a service that we are not registered to provide, and we will assist you in looking at the next stage of your care.
