What is nursing care?

A care home is usually staffed by care assistants, who are qualified to support most needs of our residents. Nevertheless, some require nurses as well as care assistants, which is the type of care provided in a nursing unit at Artisan.

When is nursing care appropriate?

If a resident has more complex medical needs, such as a requirement for continuous assessment, wound care, or rehabilitation, nursing care in a care home could be the right choice. Those with long-term illnesses, both physical and mental, can also benefit from nursing care. If you’re unsure if it’s needed, speak to our team who will be happy to advise you.

Why is nursing care important?

Retaining dignity and comfort as care needs increase is vital for wellbeing. Instead of moving into a medical facility, the provision of nursing care in a care home enables independence and comfort without compromising on safety. For residents who start in our residential care and move to nursing care, they are able to remain in a place they know and still receive the right care.

Benefits of nursing care

Combining a care home and a nursing environment provides our residents with the perfect balance of comfort and care. With both registered nurses and qualified care home assistants on hand, as well as a person-centred care plan to work from, residents get round-the-clock attention alongside an enriching, independent life.

My husband came for respite in March; however, it was decided he should stay for full-time care due to a few safeguarding issues. The care home is an extremely homely and friendly place. Very loving, patient and caring staff. He is always occupied with the many varied activities and trips organised by the wonderful lifestyle girls. Everyone has gone above and beyond to make my hubby and me happy and settled. Keep up the brilliant work, Seagrave team.

My mum stayed at Mousehold View for 2 weeks and enjoyed her stay. I was really impressed with everything about it. I couldn’t find any fault with anything, it’s like a 5-star hotel, an amazing place, and now my mum is back home she says it’s the place she would live full time when needs to be, thank for everything.

Dad stayed for one week for respite care after having a knee replacement. Wow, Middleton Lodge Care Home went above and beyond anything we could have dreamed of. It is nicer than any five-star hotel or cruise ship! I am only sorry that I couldn’t stay with Dad for the week. Beautiful rooms, fantastic facilities, amazing food, wonderful, caring staff, quality furnishings, superb cleanliness. Nothing is too much trouble. This really is a fabulous home, there is nothing that hasn’t been thought of to keep your loved ones safe, happy and feeling at home. Even better than home!
