What is residential care?

Residential care is a long-term stay at a care home. It’s for people who have low to medium care needs, and need assistance with their day-to-day life. Residential care involves a private room (unless you’re in one of our companion suites), with access to communal spaces like our lounges, library, and gardens. There will be daily support from care workers, who ensure that things like laundry, showering, bathing, ordering and administering medication, and mealtimes are handled.

When is residential care appropriate?

If you’re in a position where important daily needs like eating, moving around, washing and taking care of your care needs aren’t being met, it’s a good idea to consider residential care. This could be due to age or a medical condition; there’s a place for you at Artisan.

Why is residential care important?

Residential care enables people to live a better quality life. In one place, we can offer safety, companionship, community, and peace of mind. It can help both residents and their families feel safe in the knowledge that there is a whole team taking care of everything.

Benefits of residential care

Hear from our residents and their families

We are really happy with the home. It’s like a family, everyone is so friendly. My father enjoys the food and activities. All the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble to do. It takes so much worry off us knowing he’s safe and looked after.

Mum has settled very well and is noticeably happier and healthier than she was before she moved in. Almost a surprise to us all as she was keen to stay in her own home and was not expecting to enjoy it here as much as she has. It’s now become her home and she is enjoying living here very much.

Without exception every single member of the team that I have met at Mousehold View is delightful and has helped the family deal with what was a distressing and difficult time in Mum’s life. The quality of care is wonderful, as are the surroundings. The thought that has gone into providing a caring atmosphere is notable and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Mousehold View team for taking such good care of Mum in this next step of her journey in life.
